AKHASHENI

Our Akhasheni is a naturally semi-sweet Georgian red wine made from Saperavi, Georgia’s signature red grape and one of the world’s rare teinturier varieties. Unlike most red wine grapes, Saperavi has naturally red flesh as well as red skin, giving the wine its deep color and rich character.

To achieve Akhasheni’s signature sweetness, the fermentation temperature is lowered at the desired point, preserving some of the grape’s natural sugars. No sugar or other sweetening ingredients are added.

The wine opens with inviting aromas of ripe plum, followed by a harmonious, velvety palate with rich plum flavors and a subtle hint of chocolate.

Smooth, fruit-forward and naturally sweet, it pairs beautifully with desserts, fresh fruit and fruit-based dishes.
